  1. THAT part? You mean all the lewd cuddling and handholding scenes?

Also nice to have a confirmation that you’re not dead from time to time, you guys do worry me sometimes.

  2. Great to hear from you again. This is my first comment I’ve ever made on the project, but I -believe- I’ve been following it since 2010? I’m sure there are plenty of people who have been following this just as long as I have, and I really think that says something. I’d like to mention that as someone who also draws, I can really tell that you’ve improved quite a bit since starting this project and I’m quite happy to see where you’re taking it.

As far as cuts that you announce way-back-when, unfortunately such is the process of making games. On the bright side, I am quite happy that not too much has been lost from the core game. As far as sub-plots go though, are the sub-plots aside from Youmu still good to go? I rather enjoyed the idea that this wasn’t just ‘Marisa’s story,’ but ‘a story in Gensokyo’ with other stories going on right along it. That question aside, I can’t wait to see what the rest of this year does for this. Right along with Persona 5 and MGS 5, this is one of those things I look forward to.

  3. Just saw this post and was so excited ESR is on its way that I decided to download demo 2 again. But, it turns out the link is broken. I’m guessing that you didn’t take down demo 2 and leave up demo 1 on purpose, so maybe that should be fixed.

  4. I really cannot wait for the full game! And I see that the download for demo 2 was fixed, thanks for that! The game looks absolutely wonderful!

  5. It’s getting to the end of June, after all the writing’s done I wonder how much more time they’ll need to do the final touches, hopefully not much but I can still wait!!!!!

  6. Almost halfway to the end of 2015; odds of a release improve every day.

Happy gay marriage day to the USA folks as well.

  7. Hello. I’ve probably been watching this site for a year or two, but I thought I should just make sure to let you guys know I’m waiting warmly until it is ready. Please do finish!

  8. There’s a user on youtube, pandoraherself. She does voice work and parodies.

She made a video parody of let it go, stating that fans should just be quiet and stop nagging creators over updates and such. For creators have lives, they are not getting paid for free content (unless it has advertisements of course), and updates take time.

If you remember, in an earlier update these fine folks at DSD stated that they have jobs, and therefore lives and thus it is possible that real life commitments have slowed the project and rate of updates. Not to mention that they have that other project “Touhou Mecha” which uses similar assets/materials/resources and would understandably draw time and commitment away from ESR.

To claim that they’re dead is just silly. I’m sure they’ll post a statement by December or even next year saying something to that effect.

Also, and this is a quote from somewhere that says “no plan survives contact with the enemy.” For creators, the enemy is time, length of the work in question and the resources needed for completion, other distracting factors like having a life, work, school, commitments etc., and in some cases injury and death can indeed hinder the author’s work.

But that last one is the most rare, and some authors have contingencies for that. I hear that Terry Pratchett has one more novel coming out that’s posthumous, as you might know.

So don’t worry, fellow ESR fans! Unless they don’t update for two years or so, they probably aren’t dead. Keep up the good work, DSD! This fan has enjoyed your work thus far. You posted a great demo four years ago and I look forward to seeing the final result!

  9. “For creators have lives, they are not getting paid for free content (unless it has advertisements of course), and updates take time.”

A blog post every six months isn’t much to ask if they want to maintain interest.

  10. Well, what I want is not that they release the game right now but that they follow their deadline at least so far that they give us a status update when it runs out.

  11. As someone who waited since the very first demo and checks back every week it certainly is discouraging. I will continue to check back every week as I always do. This game is worth everything it and I truly want to see it through.

Even a status update saying that they’ve still been busy with life would be great. Or that they’re still interested in the project. I understand that there’s other life commitments, that’s why we’re not demanding anything.

We only ask because we care, care a lot about the project and the creators. To me the creation of everything of the world comes from the combination of the creator and interest of the people. A word not said, or a action not doing, does nothing in the end.
